Why is Kobe wearing #24 this year instead of #8?...
i just saw this on sportscenter the other day because i never keep up with nba basketball until the playoffs come around, but is there any certain reason?

i believe its his high school or college basketball number.

he didn't play college ball, must be high school if it's an old number for him.

24 is the number he wore in his freshman year of highschool

All of the above = wrong.

24 was his father's number when he played pro ball in Italy where Kobe spent most of his childhood. He wanted to go back to his roots. In high school, Kobe wore 33, and we all know who wore 33 for the Lakers before he got to LA back in the day--so he chose 8 because it looked like 2 3's put together.
